I have a 92 f-150 with 6i. my problem is that i do not have any spark. i have replaced the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, and the control module that mounts on the inside of the driverside fender. this is starting to get expensive for a poor college student. i used to be able to get it to fire up and stay running when i took the #1 plug out and grounded it to the valve cover. is there any better way to diagnose this problem then by quessing? i still would appreciate any guess to my problem too.
Do you have a fuse specificly for the ignition?
If so - could be bad or loose - replace it.
If there is no spark at the coil then assuming the new brain is good it kinda sounds like you are not getting voltage to the brain. If fuse does not fix it then maybe a wire is broken/loose.
Good luck!!
Maybe I'm wrong here but I thought all 92 models had EEC IV systems which places the control module on the side of the dist. Another common and often overlooked reason for no spark is the two ground wire connection (plastic pull apart terminal) right next to the neg. cable at the battery. This is a ECU ground.
