I have a 92 F-250 with a Dana 50 and the 4x4 does not lock and its not the hubs I think its the differrential. I found a used Dana 60 that I want to put on instead. I was wondering if I need to change the rear if I swap out the front?
I know you already did this :: If you have hubs locked . Jack up truck . And turn drive shaft if the wheels Spin its your transfer case or Linkage is not engaging the transfer case.
That said . As long as gear ratio is same as back Or close. (Some old trucks had 4:10 in front and 4:11 in rear) . You can check door post sticker . Under axle if will have a number .Or letter number combo. Go to articals /spects above and find the decoder for jamb sticker will give break down of numbers gears or look on housing will/should have a tag with ratio ETC . Good luck
