Looking at a used f150 lariat at the local dealership. Truck looks awesome, its loaded with everything and only 30,000 miles, an 04 or 05 i think. Does ford do some kinda certified check on all preowned cars they sell. Im about to get rid of my lease and am thinking about upgrading from my current stx, but I dont want to buy somebody elses problem. Thanks for the advice anyone might have.

Oh yeah, that's the quick wash, Armor All everything rubber under the hood and the tires, and a shot of Febreeze to the interior! LOL!! Seriously though, they do have factory certified used trucks that go through a checklist and carry a decent warranty, you pay more for peace of mind. Just make sure you get a Carfax, and don't get stuck with a Katrina truck!

Take a close look at what a new version of the truck would sell for before you lay down your hard earned cash. If things are at all like they are here in Canada right now they are knocking quite a chunk off the list price before you even open your mouth and that should have an effect on the price of used trucks.
Also don't get caught up with all the features on a Lariat. When they are selling it they will go through each feature and tell you how much it adds to the value of the truck. If you then turned around and tried to trade it back to them they would say, "We just go by Lariat book price, those options really don't add a lot to the value to a used truck".
