Man do this baby get the ball rolling LOL.. gots to be extra careful with it as it's turning some serious R's but it do do the trick. When the collet is tight enough LMAO!! the bit popped out 2wIc while getting a feel for it..bought fudged the drawers on the second one hahahhaa My pnuematic one is starved due to a small compressor but does a tidier job as there is more control. This one makes the start (bit porting) to remove the (Jessica Simpson) skin a quick job... got into one of the jnkr C4 heads just for a look and WOWSER!! this was a different casting than the 65 heads on the Merc. The exhaust had a huge hump up top and a wierd cup where the hump meets the upper valve guide roll. Figured we'd just have at these as they're pretty much scrap I guerss.. unless pretty isnt in the picture.. Now the sad part will be when 10 years from now they are still on a shelf and due to $$ and time they are put together for a build and perform better than any thing to date, by my hand LMAO!! Planning to just act as if they were gold and get some tooling time in on them for a little R&D fun.. May post picts I dunno
Well my god Bobby thanks......I'll be waiting for that after the first of the year....lol... yeah I tred firing up my lttle pancake compresser, after not using it for a couple years.....and it froze up i guess with all the humidity back here....
But i like the isea it use's collets and all the die grinder add on's.... I'll be waiting for mine.... LOL...
Well, I will say the tootsie rolls dont hold up to this thing at all!!! last all of 10 sec before you have a fan LOL... I guess the extra 2200rpm makes a difference lol So it does really good if you have about 200.00 for rolls... it does pretty one up in a just a few seconds though. Should be quick work wrapping things up with a 600 grit wheel. Real hesitant to touch the COAE heads.. thinking if they go ebay they are best left alone...
Sounds like a fun toy ya got there Bob. Dan and I finally went splits on a nice compressor from HD. Only my half is at his house.
Yep personally I'd leave the C0 heads as they are. If you plan on selling them they are worth more untouched. But if you plan on using them someday you can then decide what to do. Guy named Hollis Franks on the net54 site runs a pair on his 427. Maybe touch base with him and see what he did with his. I know he did larger valves. And I'd think some chamber work with those small stock chambers.
Yep Bobby I agree with G-Man, leave them C0's untouched..they'll bring better money if left stock....Plus who ever buy's them ..know's just what there getting also.... and yeah check with Hollis...who knows he may want a spare set or 2?
I cant remember if you had them magged or not? But that would also be a good selling point...for some more change for your C4's with the CJ valve's.....JMO
Fondle, fondle! These heads were a pretty good find, wish my digital could do macro photography.
ROFLMAO heck send me some picts for christmas Hoping for the best really, the one C4 is almost ready for the machinist. Just need to finish spritzn up the intakes and do a final polish on the exhaust side. The Santa Ana's(winds) picked up last night so it dont look like a today thing unless they calm down. about 40-60knots on average here in OC
