Starting problem..never happend before

Yesterday after driving for an hour, we stopped at jack in the box for the wife and kids to use the restroom. I waited in the truck. When they were done, I went to fire it up and it just cranked and cranked. I looked under the hood for signs of obvious problems, but found none. This happened for about 10 minutes or so, and then it fired up. The temp was about 35, which is failry warm I would think. I stopped and started two other times yesterday and also this morning with no problems. Is this a serious problem? My truck in an 05 F350 King Ranch Dually 4x4 PSD. I have been religious on maintenance and have enjoyed 40,000 trouble free miles to date. Is this a bigger problem waiting to happen or a fluke thing? thanks for any help or suggestions.

Sounds like a high pressure oil pump problem. The 05 model year was kind of famous for it.Take it back to dealer as all should still be under wty.

even with 40,000 miles on it? that would be nice. After doign some reading, it has been about 18000 miles since I have changed the fuel filter. Could that also be part of the problem? Ignore my previous remark about religious maintenance..apparently I was not a religious with the fuel filter as I should be..

The engine has a 5yr/100k warranty on it, only cost is $100 deductible. Sounds like the snap to connect fitting on the HPOP is leaking. This is fairly common on the 05, there is a revised part to fix it.
