This is the Pisano/Ogdan Buick from the early/mid 50's.
One of the features that "made" the Carson Top was the large flowing rear of the top and the fact that they all used Albino Naugahides.
(Take something that large made of 1x2 glued/nailed together with chickenwire stapled to it covered in heavy material, it was not "removable", you and your army might get it off at great risk of injury/damage.)

We could be having a failure to communicate on terms, but the top we make that we call a "Carson-Top" IS removeable. YES it weighs a ton, but the customer usually has a pulley setup in their garage to pull the top off with. I know that the Carson upholstery shop is the ones who invented it, and all that, and that's why they call it a "Carson Top".
Never mind whether you think it's removeable or not, on a truck like ours, they are still UGLY!!!!!!

This is exactly what I wanted! Thanks guys...you all gave me alot to think about. I think the carson top looks good on an old Merc but I agree it would be quite difficult to make it look good on one of our trucks. Thanks again for the opinions!

Dyce - Who are we to tell you whether we think that a Carson (or any other top for that matter) would look good on YOUR truck. Do what you like.....if ya did it and don't like it, there's always someone else out there that might.

That's EXACTLY RIGHT!! You have to please yourself!! Just cause some of us don't like that look, dont make it right or wrong? I certainly didn't mean, you should please us, you should remember if you like it, that's all that matters.
