4x4 Problems

4x4 Problems
4x4 worked fine last year. now sometimes it engages and sometimes it doesn't. Dash light works fine.
Just today shifted into 4x4 with no problem, then i shifted out of 4x4 when i didnt need it. Got into some more snow and shifted back into 4x4 and it didn't work. 4x4 seems to have a mind of it's own and it decides for me if i need it or not.
Did some research here and it seems like the vacuum portion of the system. Can anyone point me in the direction on how to fix or should i fo to the exspensive dealer.
