Now for the F part,it means Ford, the Ford trucks used to be named F-1 F2 and so on to F8,made untill 1948,when they changed the name to F-100,which was also called the Ford Bonus-Built.When they were first produced, some of them were called Model AA,TT and so forth.I know the F series sounds kind of redundant using the name Ford then the F,but thats what they did.
I like the F series naming idea.
I hope FORD does not start using names for the F series trucks.
If the Ranger gets replaced with a larger truck, I hope it gets the F-100 name with a Ranger trim level - kinda retro/old school.
It is cool that Ford used F series trim levels for naming there smaller trucks.
Ranger/Explorer.
What would Ford call the F-150 if it were given a name?
I thought the old Ford trucks were called Fleetline and the vans were called Econoline and that is where the F-150,250... and E-150,250.. came from. Plus if the "F" stands Ford doesnt it seem redundant to call a truck the Ford Ford-150?
I see where the T=Toyota and C=Chevrolet but how does K=General Motors (GMC)?
I belive that the "F" is just a series. To answer the above question General Motors had a "C" series and a "K" series. The "C" series was 4x2 and the "K" series was 4x4. Chevy and GMC were the same as far as series goes but with one diffrence. Chevy was the "Silverado" and GMC was the "Seirra".
