Hey guys. My brother just bought an 00 Ex 7.3 PSD Limited. We are going to use it for the holidays then sell it. (He is a car dealer) I have a quick question:
It has two LCD monitors in it. Both of them have Video, but I can't seem to get sound out of the radio. Is there a Frequency to go to for the DVD Player? It has a stock head unit and I assume the stock DVD Player (it is a pyle DVD Player) It also has two wireless headphones that came with it, but all I got is fuzz sound coming out of both.
Is there a procedure to sync the headphones?
And How do you put the sound from the DVD player on the radio?
its not a stock dvd system. does it have a round sort of football looking thing on the cieling of the truck? thats for the headphones. turn the dvd player on, then you power them on. but, thats how my alpine headpnones work.
Nicely installed but not factory by any means. But then again I knew that when you said it was a Pyle above. I like how they moved the AC/Heat controls. Wonder what they did with the center vent?
It sounds as though that you have IR (Infrared) headsets. I would try changing the batteries to start in each headset. Then check the system (Drop-down) to see what frequency it is broadcasting on. Typically will be 2.8 ~ 3.2 MHz. Try adjusting that and see what you get.
TIP: You must have direct line of site for IR to work good or you get lots of fuzz/static. Even the slightest left or right will get you jack-up audio.
I found out that it is a Myron & Davis Monitor In the rear, Model # AK1070W, with a pyle DVD player, Model PLDVD124, the Video connection works fine, I guess I need to pull the radio tomorrow to see if there is any kind of FM Modulator on it. I looked underneath there and it seemed like all connections were tight as they were electrical taped together.
Just curious, but is it typical to hook up an aftermarket DVD player to the radio system like the stock units?
I have a stock unit and it just auto play's through the system shutting down the radio, less we hit the button that let's you play the radio through the front speakers.
I have the factory installed unit on my limited and if the stereo is like the one I have, you nead to press the 2 and 5 buttons simultaneously. This will show dual play on stereo.
