Guys what would cause my electric 4x4 system not to click anymore? Would it be the module itself, because I already tried another 4x4 switch and it will still not light up and go into 4x4 HI or LOW.... If a transfer case motor ever goes out would it cause the module not to make a clicking sound? I have already tested the module and it flashes 4 times when you have the key in the run position and with the the bottom connectors unplugged.
My truck is a 92 F-150 XLT 302EFI 4x4 manual locking hubs and electric bw 1356 transfercase
The motor its self moves the tcase. So if thats bad it wont click. But if the 4x4 box is bad that wont make the motor move either. The box is on the right side kick pannel. There is a button you can test it. There was a thread the other day about how do ck.
Okay well I did do that test and the results were good.... The module itself flashed 4 times, would replacing the transfer case motor fix my issue then?
If I'm not mistaken, you would still hear the click if your module was good and your tcase was bad. The click that he's speaking of is the sound of a relay inside the 4wd module that is sending power to the shift motor. Even if the shift motor is seized or broken, the 4wd module will still try to send the pulse to it, and thus will still click.
If you're hearing no click I'm willing to bet your 4wd module is broken.
Guys what fuses would cause my 4x4 system not to work? I know about number 12 and 18 fuse, but is there another fuse in the distribution box under the hood....?
