replacing driver's side mirror

Have any of you had to replace the driver's side mirror on your f-150?
If so, is it easy?

How much did the mirror cost you?

I have a lariat with the non-painted heated mirror with the integrated turn signal

Seems like some bird droppings that were on there for a while ate through the plastic

Any suggestions....its driving me nuts thanks in advance

You just need to get the inner panel off and then remove the three nuts holding the mirror on. Pretty easy.

The Lariat mirror for an '07 is $381 list or $269 through one of the discount internet parts dealers.

I still have the drivers side mirror from my '07 Lariat that was only on the truck for 500 miles if you're interested.

anyway to get the mirror back to the darker black or just replace the outer plastic?

Sent you a PM.

They don't sell just the plastic to my knowledge. If you wanted just the plastic, it may work to buy a mirror with the same housing but no dimming glass (if they make such a thing) and switch your mirror guts into that housing since that mirror should be cheaper.

There was a thread about making the bed rail caps look black again, maybe one of those plastic treatments would darken your mirror again for at least awhile.

On my previous suv I had the mirrors that were the same type of black abs plastic as the ones on our trucks and I actually took some black spraypaint and repainted them and they looked good as new. Duplicolor makes some "Trim / Bumper" paint for just these types of thing if interested.
