Intake Flutter

05 PSD and when its cold I get an occasional fluttering sound on the DS of the engine, intake area, when backing off the gas following moderate to heavy acceleration as the turbo spools down. Sounds like an import that has modified the wastegate. Dont get it all of the time. I do have an air kit, but no other mods. Ideas?

Compressor surge. Back off the throttle a little easier and it wont do it.

Ya it is normal. It is avoidable though. Try not to let it happen to much.

The turbos on the 6L arent wastegated, so when you floor it and let off quick, what you are hearing is the excess boost being let out through the intake. It is more noticeable if you are running an a/m intake.
