toasted trans
well dealer told me today third gear is toasted in my trans ( he blamed it on the ATS deep pan and the sonnax valve) he wants 3,100 for a reman from ford any body else got other suggestions

I'd like to get the bts trans but thats a lot of money i can get a rebuild for $1850 no more than what i do with the truck it will last a awhile, i think im gona get a second opinion before i decide any thing the truck does fine one day but then it starts acting up its kinda hard for me to believe that 3 rd gear is slipping just some times i would think that if it was slipping it would do it all the time but then again im not a transmission speciallist

84,000 on the truck but it was rebuild the first time at 27,000, but i still don't know whats going on with it i didn't agree with him on 3 rd gear being toasted and slipping i bought it home to get a second opinion, i drove it to work today and no problems at all with it shifted good and no slipping im going to take it to a trans shop after the holidays i still think its something electrical
