250 SD Rear Brake Question

I have a 2000 250SD CC SB with rear disc brakes. How in the heck do you get the rear rotors off ? It looks like they should slip right off. Do I have to pull the axel? Or is there some special tool to help get them off.

Thanks

They will slide off of the hub. You will most likely have to hit it with a hammer to get it loose, use a piece of wood so you don't damage the surface if you are reusing them. I replace my rotors with new slotted units, so I just hit the surface until they came off.

Rear Rotor Removal

They should just slide off unless they're rusted to the hub. If they are rusted, spray them with some penetrating oil, and if you are going to replace them, just beat the living s%&t out of them with a BFH. If you are going to reuse them, beat them off using a piece of wood between the rotor and the BFH. Make sure that your emergency brake is released.

Smack the back with a soft faced dead blow hammer.....if you are replacing the rotor, use a mini sledge. Rotate as you are doing this. Spray plenty of penetrating oil as mentioned around the hub....I always use PB blaster.
