For example we are the only company to use a specialized exhaust sampling system to not only measure the amount of soot from the engine, but actually measure the particle size. We know exactly what's coming out of the engine where as most others seem to just count the regen cycles. However, it takes time to develop not only the system itself but also the testing equipment. The tuners are basicly done and we are currently "tooling up" to get them into production. I'll post up more info on them when they come out. Also......
Viagra was orginally discovered in 1991 by accident but wasn't released to the public until 1998. 7 years later.
Jbarker............Ouch... Please keep us posted with the Cost and release date of the Banks Power Chips.

Give us Banks

Yeah Banksman!! Tell those guys to hurry up!! Some of us want to keep our warranty AND get the most power out of our trucks as safely possible. We also don't want to wait till 2010 to get our 08's running good.
I told myself nothing but Banks but if I have to wait much longer, I'm gonna go with another tuner. (Just a fact)

I for one will wait till they come out with there product. Like I have said in one other post, i have had great results with there power chips so when it is available I will buy it. I'm not in that big of a hurry. I'm sure other power chip are just as good if not better, But I am a person that stay's with what works for me. Banks has been good to me and my brother that drives a chevy. mean wile I will do other mods to the truck wile waiting for the Banks power chip.

Just my two cents.

The Viagra analogy is funny. So if I understand you correctly, once Banks comes out with their chip a similar affect will occur? just kidding. keep us posted.

If the Banks Power products work as good as Viagra I will wait to up to be the first man up to get my Banks stuff! I can wait to not void my warranty or prematurely ruin my dpf. I live in the Atlanta area where there will probably be diesel emission testing in the future just to renew your tag each year.

Probably middle of next year. It took them a long time to put a product out on the 6.0 liter so I am sure this one will also be late to market with the testing they do. I just hope it is easy to install and remove unlike the Six gun for the six liter.

I thought that I read that they started to release it and its super duper clean burn technology was not working and it was messing up DPF's.....so its been pulled and is back on the drawing board...I may have mis quoted a little but I am pretty sure thats the jist of what happened.

NO way would I even think of adding a tuner to a DPF equipped truck, you are asking for premature DPf failure.

Pahrump 1, that is actually incorrect. The slow spool up is where the exhaust has a chance to be heavier. When they re-calibrate the fuel deliver and turbo, there is usually less of a chance to mess up the dpf. I would go for taking it off, but only after my warranty is close to up.

I think that I am pretty up to date on how these trucks run and work when tuned. I have had 3 tuners on mine and have had it tuned from about the 500 mile mark.

Your right the boost does come on slow....but I assure you even with MAJOR power added and lots of tuning to get the turbos to spool faster that it still smokes. You are not going to add power to a diesel and not increase the soot output, it just dont happen.

So in summary, YES you WILL shorten the life of your DPF with ANY tuner that keeps it intact, and in the process of installing the tuner you are voiding your warranty....so dont kid yourself thinking that you are doing the "safe" thing by keeping the DPF intact and using an of the shelf tuner.

If you want the warranty then keep it stock....

I disagree with you still. The spartan may burn it up but there are others out there that will not. I am not talking about the Banks stuff either. Have fun with it either way.
