ABS Activates Just Before Complete Stop

I have a 97 F-150 4.6 Lariat which had a problem with ABS. On wet and/or dry pavement the ABS activated just berfore stopping. No ABS light. On wet/snowy roads the ABS works as advertised. Kept the truck straight as an arrow. No lights no codes. When crazy trying to find the problem.

Thought I would pass on the fix. This article is must read for anyone that lives in the rust belt of the country.

mine did that last year....i believe it was the speed sensor. just tell the dealer whats happenign and theyll know

Your loosing a signal from one of your speed sensors. Monitor the pids for the 3 sensors and you'll see one of them drop to zero while coming to a stop. replaced that sensor.

thanks for the link... mine has been doing this for 1 + years... hopefully this will fix the problem... I just put a faulty sensor back in to make the light come back on, and no ABS, but no shudder at a stop either. hopefully I can get the light off now.

Mine only has rear ABS and it did it for a while but has stopped now.
