If you have an NP 205 and have not twin sticked it yet you should be flogged, it is so cool, I used the kit from JD custom fab, it's great, except with a manual trans the levers could be shorter to clear the trans shifter better. Anyway, if you wheel at all this is an upgrade you SHOULD DO!
I have the same kit on mine, I just have a problem with the shift boot because I have a body lift it likes to pull the levers out of gear. Otherwise, I love it! I have mine behind a zf 5speed and had to heat and bend the twin sticks a little so all the levers would work without interfering.
Did you buy the kit with the new shift rails or did you grind them yourself? Did you have to pull the xcase to do it or could it be done with it in the truck?
Grinding the rails is something Id screw up. Dont ask why but I just know me.

I ground the rails myself, it was pretty easy, though the instructions were kinda lacking, look up the petersons 4wheel and off road article, it shows how to grind them better.
The case was out of the truck already, but I would not attempt to try it with it in the truck. It really is pretty easy, I think I could do it without instructions now.
I ground the rails on mine, worked like a charm. You need to pull the case to get the rails out. Making a set of shifters isn't too bad if you have a few extras to spare.
Matt
I was impressed with the stuff from JB, I don't think I could round up all that stuff for $100. It comes with nice quiet rod ends and new hardware the stuff is stainless too.
I'm the kind of guy who would rather build everything myself, rather than buy from someone else, but I wouldn't mess around with trying to fab the linkage and stuff in this instance, and I'll probably buy the same kit for my resto truck.
so 2wd hi and 2nd gear hit......you think that they would of did some testing for that. if i buy a kit, i wouldnt want to have to work on it, but i guess i would if there was no other choice. thanks for the help
