Whenever I go to town it’s via the highway, think my rpm is around 2300. It’s such that it isn't a problem and I could have gone lower on the gears. I used the brakes from a ford explorer and redrilled the rotors for my wheel pattern.
SAS - Straight Axle Swap. And no problem on the questions.
I wouldn't switch to a 9" or do major mods to my 8.8. Either I do minor mods to increase the strength of my 8.8 or I go with a Sterling 10.25 or 10.5. The question is how much of a pain is it to swap out the axle? Or is my 8.8 strong enough to run 36s?

You can't use a 9" because you need the VSS sensor for your speedo, your abs and most of all..... your transmission to shift properly.
If your going to tear the hell out of your bronco than find a sterling it has the VSS also. I'm running the 8.8 with 35" tires and have driven it hard and it has held up very well, infact it hasn't given me any problems. If I break an axle they are easy to come by, in fact I have spairs in the shed. If you were running larger than 38" tires I would be concern and sugest you upgrade - that being said; a person can break anything if they try hard enough.
Most times, some have had to shorten their driveshafts. Think it depends on the amount of lift? I forget now but yes its his best option for a tronger axle for sure.
He can't run a 9" on his 96 Bronco with out it costing him lots of money, guess why!
Bossind, I didn't say run a 9" axle, I SAID an 8.8 with 9" housing ends like I'm running. I have an 8.8 center section and eaton elocker. There are people out there running Dana 60s with a vss setup as well.

I see, it eleminates the C clips. Doesn't really give him sronger axles though, and he would still have the 8.8 housing. The problem with the 8.8 housing is the tubes spin/break loss from the casting.
