hi everyone, i have a problem, i have a 2001 7.3 and today when i was getting into my truck after work there was a decent size puddle of antifreeze on the ground. this is the first time i have seen this happen. but it doesnt leake when its hot. it looks like it is leaking near the lower coolant hose but im not sure because its all over. just wondering if anyone had any input and how long does a stock waterpump last the truck has 116,000 on it. thanks
Mine is still going strong. Means nothing though because you have a leak. It could be as simple as a hose. You need to clean it up when you get home from work, whatever, have dinner then slide under there and see where it is coming from.
There is a flange joint on the pipe that leads to the lower radiator hose, many of us have had leaks there. It's an o-ring seal with a really cheesy little rubber o-ring. I'd suggest you look there first. They also tend to leak around the thermostat housing.
