Bed Weight

I found a bed worth spending the money on however, it will need to be shipped and need to know a rough estimate on how much these beds weigh. Its off of a 97 f250. I'm thinking somewhere in the ballpark of 400lbs. Can anyone chime in?

It should probably be at least 1500lbs.

I've pulled a bed with 3 people, no way it ways 1500lbs. I was thinking 300-400lbs.

Years ago I made a trailer out of the back half of a f150, the box with the frame and axle/pig assy. under it weighed just under 1500lbs. Had to weigh it to get a lic. plate.

No way a box itself weighs that much.

Its a long bed with tailgate, bumper and rear fuel tank that will all be shipped. So no more than say 700lbs with everything?

Yea you should be safe with that number, best to error on the high side a little anyway when shipping something.

Call a ford dealer parts department and find out the weight, I'm curious too. The newer truck beds shouldn't be much different.

Absolutely no more than 700# with tailgate. I'd go more toward the 300-400 range. I recently pulled the (long) bed off my '93 F-350 and was able to move it easily. The front loader on my tractor barely noticed it was there, and I was able to move it by hand on the ground.
