Anyone notice less christmas lights this year?

The Cost of Power and subsequent bills are way up.
My old electrical energy consumption is no differnt than my new energy consumption
yet what used to be $45-$50 /month is more than double that ranging from $92.00 - 139.00
all sorts of outlandish fees are bumping costs up.
Soon ......"Life itself " ..... will only be for the rich
This doesn't even touch on the rampant theft and vandalism of the day.
There is at least an 80% drop in yard displays here this year.
I have been reading letters to the editor of several papers about the theft and vandalism.
Heck people were destroying Halloween displays as well.
One of my duties in town is to drive around looking for suspicious people after midnight.

I can't figure out how it is so many people have so much money to waste on stupid things like Christmas lights, amongst all the other zillion dollar items they own and drive.
I've got lights that I haven't put up for over 4 years and have no plans to do so for the future. They'll probably end up in the dump next spring, if I clean out my storage shed.

I deck my house out every year. I heat with wood. I get the wood for free seeing I have 15 acres of forest to harvest from. So I can "splurge" on Christmas lights.

I'm glad that there's less this year...Christmas lights kinda annoy me...Of course most things christmas annoy me...I guess I'm just a grinch.

I notice my house has less lights on it this year compared to last year. I only put up about half of them. All due to the fact my wife hated the super white LEDs I put up last year, I ended up buying a couple boxes of the soft white LEDs this year and ran out. I wasn't about to go out for more. Besides, they are a pain to put up with those stupid t72 staples, which I also ran out of.
I did have about 10 strings of white C9 bulbs a couple years ago, power consumption was way more than I expected. Gave them away.
Next year I might just go with multicoloured strings. We'll see.

Yeh I noticed that too. I'm not sure if its the cost of power or not. I think maybe people are getting tired of the same old thing.I know I am. now that my kids are all grown up it just and the same.especially if your not real religious
