shrinker/stretcher

Hi everyone. Has any one used a shrinker/stretcher? I want to buy one. There is a great price difference in ones made in the US and the off shore ones. Is there any difference in them. I would think that the off shore ones would not last as long. But I would not be using it a lot. I know I should buy stuff made in North America and I usually do. Can anyone recommend which one I should buy. Thanks

I've used quality USA made before but never an import for this particullar tool. My experience with imports have been a mixed bag. If you can't see it/hold it in person to judge the quality you may want to spend the extra $ and go with the USA model. What about replacement jaws? If you use it a LOT then they can go bad. Where are you going to get parts if needed?

I bought my made in the USA set from an ebay store for 1/2 the price Eastwood wants. It's the same set they sell and mine came with the floor stand which you definitely want. Bite the bullet and buy the two head set, you will typically need them both on most projects and don't want to have to mess with switching the jaws all the time. Be sure to follow the directions to keep the jaws clean and put a piece of oiled cardboard between the jaws when not using. Never leave the jaws in contact with each other, and NEVER EVER pull the handle even lightly without something between the jaws.
