Rust

I recently purchased a 2001 F250. I'm in FL, the truck came from Mass. Thereis some rust under the truck & I'd like to stop it there. Will just some Rust-O-Leum work or do I need to treat it with something else & then paint? There was an undercoating applied, but it's missing in some areas. Thanks.

I'd use something like a POR-15 chassis coat.

Don't use regular POR-15 if the area is exposed to light. UV will deteriorate regular POR-15.

My 01 is Rusting everywhere. under the paint ,and underneath the whole truck.
It needs a bath in POR 15.

I run mine through a car wash at least twice a month in the winter, sometimes more, just to try and keep as much salt off as possible.

Down here I wash it as soon as I can when salt is on the roads. When we take a trip to the coast we wash them on the way home.

I use Chassis Saver (www.magnetpaints.com) - seems professional grade compared to POR-15.
