I have been having minor drivability problems, which completely disappeared when I replaced the DPFE sensor, in my 2.5 Lima engine.
Thing is, the unit was typical AutoZone (WELLS). Inexpensive at $44.00, but the unit got worse and worse, until I returned it three weeks later. Luckilly I saved the original Motorcraft part, which leaves me to ask: Is there a good, reliable, replacement DPFE unit, that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? Standard costs $100 (not that I like the Standard brand), and I don't even want to know what the original Motorcraft costs.
Anyone have any luck with aftermarket DPFE sensors? Who makes a good, but reasonably priced, sensor?
Standard is a premium brand, and is the same as BWD (Borg Warner) and Echlin now. The only differences are the part numbers. I sold Standard for the better part of 10 years and find it to be a solid line. Tru-tech, Pace Setter, and Niehoff are economy lines associated with Standard and BWD. BWD number EGR155 goes for about $75 here.
