Stalling/Bogging down on acceleration

Try backing out on the idle mixture screws adjustment about 1/8 turn CCW at a time and see if it smooths out. You may also have to adjust the curb idle screw to obtain the proper idle RPM or alternate between mixture and idle RPM adjustments until just right. Proper adjustment procedure should be included in the carb manual. Sounds to me like you're making good progress.

Well, I'm running out of time with this truck, and I don't think it's going to make the trip from Connecticut to Alabama, so I'm abandoning ship with this truck. I love it enough to get another one, but alas, this '86 must remain behind.

did u check for a rear fuel filter in the frame rail? towards back near tank some had them also don't know where ur from and how strick they are on pollution controls i put an electric fuel pump on an 80 chevette ( easier than replacing in an alberta winter no garage) cheaper to.... used the tank vent line as a return to solve the tooooooo much gas and pressure problem but u must use a vented gas cap discontected the line from the cannister and teed the fuel line so extra gas went back to tank ran it for a couple years never a problem once i replaced with a vented gas cap! 1/8 drill hole will vent the cap
