I'm looking at a deal on a 2002 f350 dana 60 front. But I need help. The guy that has it does not know too much about axles but he will ship it to me pretty cheap. I need to know if this is a leaf spring axle, if it is drivers side drop, and if anyone knows about what the spring pad centers distance is as well as the wms to wms distance might be. Also, the pictures he sent me are not real clear, it looks as if the springs mount "under" the axle instead of "over" the axle...is this right for a 2002? I'm using the axle for a conversion on my 86' 250 I know it's probably a ball joint axle, but I cannot afford a lot of money for the kingpin ones, they are asking an arm and a leg for one. I just want to double check with you guys before I hand my hard earned money over to a stranger. Thanks much in advance
I just saw a dana 50 without the hubs on craigslist in KCMO for $150. Good luck. My 2000 had a 50 and I put some mile marker hubs on it. Also, I believe you have to order parts from ford or from a scrapyard because ford owns the patten from dana for however long.

Spring centers are different. You will have to move the perches if they're not cast into the housing. If they are, you're SOL. Bolt pattern is also different, you will either have to carry two spares or swap the rear axle as well.
It would be a lot of hassle. By the time you're done making it work, a ball joint Dana 60 out of a 93 or newer F-350 would probably be just as cheap and whole lot less work.
