Shifter floor conversion: what to get?
What kind of conversion kits are available? I have on in there now that is real screwy and think i need to yank. I believe its a Mr.Gasket kit- H pattern 3 speed.

I had the MR. Gasket shifter. Tossed it in the garbage. I got a direct fit shifter from Hurst. I ordered it through a local truck place, but it can be ordered through Summit Racing as well.

Hmm, never saw the direct fit Hurst on summit, will have to go back through and recheck. I am personally considering the TCI as well. But may go the Hurst route now. My dad had a hurst shifter in his Chevelle and loved it.

I searched assuming you are refering to your 77 f100 and I beleive my shifter is the same part in my 73 anyway:

Shifter:

A little pricy I guess, but I love the shifter. Like I said before had one of those universal 3-speeds and it was terrible.

I also have the Mr Gasket/B&M shifter in my truck and have had a lot of problems with it, such as the shifter falling thru the floor almost 2 the road, and its very sloppy and constantly needs adjustment. and the hurst kit is also available from Jegs for a cheaper price

Thank you, I wonder if I'll need the installation kit? Is that the linkages between the shifter and the trans?

from Jegs, yes, the shifter is shifter only, the install kit is application specific w/ linkages and everything else

Yes, like tractor boy says install kit has linkages and the shifter bolts to a bracket that is only in install kit. W/O install kit shifter is basically useless
