Tranny lost power
Ok, first let me say I have spent the last 1-1/2 hour reading tranny post and I have a headache. So, I decided to ask for help!!!!! I posted on the Explorer board figuring there is more trafic on this one than the Ranger board.
96 Ranger 4x4 4.0 Automatic. Lost power (tranny) forward or reverse. It acts like it tries to move, but just won't. It has had a little bit of a rough shift otherwise worked fine and then just went. Pulled the pan and the fluid smells fine and there's no signs of catastrophic failure. Pulled the valve body and the seperator plate gasket looks fine. It seems as though this thing just lost fluid pressure. Is the EPC solenoid common for this symptom ?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
