99 Sport, Disc Parking brake adjustment

Can I adjust the parking brake from behind the rotor on my 99 Explorer sport? It has the rubber plugs on the back. But I remember when I put the shoes on there was no parking brake lever like on convential drum brakes. Mines 4 wheel disc and I just put 2 new studs and parking brake shoes on. The parking brake shoes were wor almost totally down. I didn't have the brake adjustment gauge that it shows in the Ford repair manual. But I guess there must be a way to adjust it from the rear if it has the rubber plug. Does it adjust the same as a convential drum brake system? When I push the parking brake pedal down it doesn't hold at all. No cables are loose or broken. So I'm figuring it needs adjustment.

There is a adjusting wheel I'm guessing you could use it now..If you could get to it. When you assembled the brakes you should have adj the brakes so the rotor would just go on. Thats with a new rotor without a lip on the edge.

Doing the brakes was easy. I just never have done one with a disc and drum parking brake. So I can't get the parking brake set right. I still haven't. All you do for the brakes is remove the caliper bolts, lift of the caliper, pop the pads out, press it back in, and put new pads on, rotors slide right off for turning.
