my buddies truck was doing the same thing yesterday, and the week before hand, untill it just wouldnt start. after troubleshooting he found it to be
I just pulled this passage verbatim from another thread...
Before you send someone to the autoparts store to waste money on something their vehicle may or may NOT need...
before you let some guy go on a wild goose chase looking for a problem with his truck...
TELL US EXACTLY what the truck was doing, hw you came about what you did, and what lead you to your conclusion.
Another member may read an explained troubleshoot and match up symptoms and be saved a lot of time, yet another might the quoted statement as written and waste a Sunday and $70. and be no closer to an operational truck.

I completely understand, there was a thread I replied to, and a couple of others did too, and I was asking for more details, and more details etc. And I think they fella got insulted because I needed more details before a reccomendation, and he stopped posting. Who knows if he got his issue resolved.
only thing on asking for more details especially with new members. You need to be specific, if what you need is more details about the vehicle then ask specific details such as year or date of manufacture (say to determine late or early 99 as an example) and tell them how to find that info.
If it's more info or specifics on symptoms then ask specific questions, asking "when does it do it" they will think when I start it is a good answer (only giving generic examples nothing specific here) so if you come back and ask again when does it do it, they get mad and leave cause dang it they already told you. when what you wanted to know was when you start it cold, hot or all the time? Hope that makes sense
Otherwise I agree with premise here for sure.
Good advise, Remember, when most of us came here, not only did we not know what was wrong, but I for one wasn't sure how to explain it best. I have ask questions to other and had them never post back as well. Hope they found their answers. Sometimes its easy for me to forget that I didn't know what was and what wasn't important info to help solve the problem. Heck, now that I think about it, I still don't know much.
