78 ford heating problems

This might be a silly answer but replace the radiator cap also. The cooling system might not be making enough pressure.

The heater hoses were backwards and the waterpump was not circulating good enough.

If you can chk to see if you pinched the cooler hose where it attaches to the heater core.Make sure you put the thermostat in correctly or take it out and put it in boiling water with a themometer and see if it opens.On more than 1 occasion a out of the box new part has failed--IE.. fuel pump.That was fun
