Hey, Ive got some driving that im going to be doing now in my bronco and i would like to get my cruise control back up and working. Now earlier this summer ive done a little investigation in why its not working. I tested to see if i had resistance in the sensors on the rear axle and i didnt have any. So i went ahead and bought a new sensor, put it in and nothing. Before i go spending anymore money can someone tell me where to start. Is this a common problem? Is my Cruise Control not working due to my abs. I should also add that i redid my breaks with new rear drums pads and hardware kit, and the front rotors turned and new pads. I also cleaned up the sensor wheel inside the hub. Im thinking towards the lines of my front speed sensors are bad. What do you guys think..........
Are you saying that your ABS does not work? If so post the ASB codes and maybe we can go from there.
Here is how to get the codes if you do not know how.
Light Flash Technique
1. NOTE: If 12V test light is not available, the amber ABS warning light also flashes during this test.
Locate test connector in the engine compartment and install 12V test light between Pin C and E.
2. With the ignition off, jumper Pin E to B.
3. Turn ignition switch to RUN position.
4. Remove jumper between Pins E and B after 5 seconds.
5. Count light flashes of test light or amber ABS warning light.
Have you taken it in to a Ford dealer for the switch mod for the fires?
If not do that first, the switch on the MC may be bad, let them change it for free.
Yea i did that before but i dont remember wut i got. Il have to do that again, also its already got the recall done on it. Let me fool around with that a bit and see wut i come up with. thanks
Sorry i just read further and that chart was for a 89, i also had my father help me because running form the engine compartment to the drivers seat and not missing any lights is near impossible lol, i ran the test again and it was code 27. had two flashes then a pause then 7 more flashes after that. I dont have a chart for this. Again im running the ABS Self Test on a 95 Ford bronco with a 351. Thanks
27 -- Open circuit to valve block or anti-lock brake electronic control module, open or shorted valve coil or internal anti-lock brake electronic control module damage.
Affected Circuit(s)/Electrical Component(s)
Description
Code 27 is generated by the anti-lock brake electronic control module's detection of an open or shorted Circuit 510 (T/R) and by an open or shorted outlet rear axle valve coil or an open or shorted driver in the anti-lock brake electronic control module.
Possible Contributing Component/Vehicle Wiring Concerns
