I'd look for loose vacume lines. Not a tranny guy so after that I'm out of suggestions.

Sorry Pal

The tranny is doing this in the F250. From 40-65mph it jumps in and out of OD a bunch. No tranny light either so guessing it's internal. My mechanic took out the syn fluid and installed new syn fluid and it's doing the same thing. When the original tranny failed it skipped second gear. This one has 167K miles on a $2K Ford rebuild. When towing it's never left OD and now that seems to be the gear thats slipping.

Been driving this way for about 2K miles but the fuel mileage is way down due to higher than normal rpm's at cruising speeds.

I see your running a chip/lift/large tires. These all can cause to a premature tranny failure. What are your miles and whats the history of the truck (fluid changes, original tranny, miles).

the truck has 84,000 on it now first rebuild was at 27,000 then again at 74,000 as far as the history of the truck regular fluid changes and since the second rebuild i reall take care of it and as easy as i can be on it P.S. not much towing with the truck just mostly a daily driver street truck the chip stays of for the most part

This must come under the heading, "Any suggestion is better than none."

What would a vacuum line do with a diesel engine and an electronic transmission? There are no vacuum lines!

Does the overdrive switch and light work? If so, and it isn't flashing, then its going to be more difficult to find the problem.

With no data to go on, such as a code, my guesses are a bad TRS or TPS. That's Transmission Range Sensor and Throttle Position Sensor. The TRS is on the driver's side of the trans, and the TPS is on the accelerator pedal.
