My wife & I were out walking the other day and one on Main st. caught my eye, I poked her and said look at those wide white walls, she said YUK. I had to agree, I think I like them better on some cars 50s. IMHO

I think it depends greatly on everything else the truck has; color, ride height, etc... I've seen it work well on some super-low trucks.

I agree with Matt2491; that is a unique style and for Slicks to have them IMHO it has to be a low rider and possible a long bed to seperate the bright whites from each other.

rogue40 - you gave me cold chills !lol
I actually have a long bed and will most likely do a mild lower kit . I know the I beams are a pain , and I always end up with hard to lower vehicles!lol From my 96 Ranger , 46 Tudor Sedan , and now the 66 F100!!!!

Hey there, I saw this picture on a site a while ago. I think the white walls look nice on this setup.
No info on the truck, but it looks like a 65 long bed.

Wide whites on passenger cars: 5" were used through 1950; 4" were used through 1955, 3" were used though 1961. 2" were used through 1964.

From 1963 through the mid 1980's most cars had only a 1" white wall.

From the mid 1980's thru the 1990's, the white wall tire was 1/2" wide.

As original, 1965 F100's could be ordered with a 1" white wall tire.

Factory photos show 3" wide whites used from 1956 thru 1960 on F100's.

From 1961/63, the photos show a 2" white wall.

From 1964 thru the early 1980's, all the factory photos show a 1" white wall.

I think this truck looks pretty good. See how the wide-whites compliment the paintjob? Nicely done.

I understand the whole lowering thing, but those trucks with the frame sitting on the ground look stupid.
Poor trucks...

Buety is in the eye of the beholder. Thanks for the pics Matt. I like the black and red one for wide whites. Laying frame as I know it is a matter of personal taste. Just like wide whites, SBCs, darkside, or factory original. I love them ALL.
