My truck has a strange idle. It is pretty shaky and makes the whole truck rock. I started seaching around and found that there was oil in the ICP connector. Pretty sure this is the problem, what do you guys think? Either way I need to replace it but wanted to see if anyone knew of another place to look.
Got my ICP in the mail today. I got mine from Ebay for about 60 bucks and it was still in the factory Ford bag. I put it in and no difference. Not sure if i did it right, as far as I can see you just unscrew the old and put the new in but it seems to me like it should be bled some how. Anyone know?
I also replaced my Trans Range Sensor becuase I am having tranny problems and herd that that could also contribute to the idle problem. Neither sensor fixed either problem. Im pretty sure that the tranny problem is the 177000 miles on it but not sure.
The problem is when it gets hot it will only shift in 2nd or 3rd and when i drive it will stay in 3rd no matter what. I have to manualy shift from 2nd to 3rd and when in 1st it stays in 2nd gear. thats off topic though but i think im just gunna run it till it stops working. I need an excuse for a built tranny anyhow

So any sugestions for the next step?

Ok.. So , is the idle bad all the time , (engine cold or warm)?.....
Opps sorry forgot to mention that. Yup all the time. Seems like the very first second it starts its smoth but only that second. Seems like it is louder than most other 7.3L at least my buddies 2000. Havent had a chance to compare to an OBS but I did here one idle at Wal-mart one time and it sure sounded a lot better than mine much like my buddies 2000.
Nothing really. Check engine light comes on as it should but no difference in the idle. Nothing happens if i have it idling and i plug and unplug the ICP.
Not really sure becuase I noticed it shortly after I go the truck. It was probly there when i got it but I just figured it was the world of diesels. Ive only had it for 4 or so months. But it really got to me one day when I tried taking a nap in it with the a/c on but couldn't becuase of the shake. Did an oil change and still no difference got an other 1000 miles before it is due again. Ive noticed it for a while but just now getting tired of it.
