I won't argue the value of a sticky. However, I'll offer a suggestion for one, albeit, I dunno if theres any one post in here that lists everything I am suggesting. Perhaps starting a poll or something for folks to tell about the most important tool they've ever purchased would be a start on collecting that info.
How 'bout a link to a good list of DIY tools to help with diagnostics. Stuff that's handy to have, and doesn't cost a fortune? Anyone made any nifty homemade tools to get around paying an arm and a leg for a Ford specialty tool? A link with some photos of your favorite home-made tool would be pretty cool. Some good hints on use of various gauges, etc to help, yada yada yada. For example, I didn't have the collett release tool for the hydraulic line on my slave cylinder on my M5OD. I made one from a piece of stainless sheet metal that worked wonderfully. The sheet metal was actually a piece from a drip-guard in a gas grill that I had left over from a grill rebuild. It's stuff like that, good ol' redneck ingenuity that will save folks a buck or two.
I'll keep the tools in mind. That is a good idea because it takes quiet a few special tools to work on our trucks. We usually don't know about them untill we are in the middle of something and the parts hose is closed.
I know this is probably too late, but I want to add how to check RABS codes. We'll use this topic for the link if anybody wants to add this to the tech sticky.
