What Diff Ratio??
Hi All!
I am swapping my 351 and manual in the 79 XLT (2 wheel drive short wheel base) for a 460 and C6, my main question is, can tell me the best Ratio to put behind the C6???
The truck does a fair share of highway miles and tows a car trailer with my Early Holdens on it, quite a bit

I am not sure of the current ratio, and bucketing down at the minute so I will check when the storms clear.
would the 3.54's be good with towing as well?
The current diff ratio in the truck sits at 60mph @ 2500rpm (it has 31 inch tyres fitted) if that helps?

Which 460 ?
How heavy a trailer ?
I do just fine with a 1970 429 (360 hp) C6 ......2.75 Ratio rear.
Higher RPM at cruising speed = More fuel consumption .
The post 73 460's only had 202 HP or so and just an adequate amount of TQ so 3.00's IMO would be better
