Hi guys, can anyone give me specs on the 300? I need Bore/Stroke,
Intake/Exhaust valve sizing, Carb or Fuel Injection CFM. Also are the valves in the head or in the block. I want to run the numbers through the "Dyno 2000" program for a fellow Ford Truck enthusiest. Thanks! Deen

Figures for a 96 are:
Bore: 4.00
Stroke: 3.98
I Valve: 1.78
E Valve: 1.56
Cam lift .249
Duration 192* @.050
Valve lift .398
CR 8.8
Head volume 68.4-65.4cc
Airflow? enough to support 84#/hr of fuel@WOT on the SEFI version, about 390 CFM which I beleve was the rating on the carbed version as well.
Valves are overhead, Ford hasn't built a production flathead engine in over 40 years.
You're going to find very low volumetric efficiencies are inherent in the long stroke engine, please post what you find though.
Strangeranger thanks! I'll get the info posted but it won't be untill next week...I leave for 5 days starting tomorrow.

Wow! Thanks Strange Ranger! I posted on several bulletin boards several months ago trying to get duration on that motor. I assume duration is the same for both intake and exhaust. Can you tell me one more thing though, what is the degrees before/after dead centers for the intake and exhaust?
For starters there's a typo, it should be 194*@.050. Don't have timing events, but they have got to be VERY mild with that small a duration. I don't remember the source of the info either, it sure as hell wasn't Ford, they keep info on the 300 a very dark secret.
