Well i have had my recon 3rd brake light for one year now and noticed that the bed lights were starting to go out. i am down to one set of 3 working and dont think that the last one will be around much longer. my question is has anyone else had issues with any of recons lights.
also my side mirror lights just dont fit well at all, the just dont want to latch in all the way. anyone have a remedy for this?
I have a similar issue with the bed lights and I've only had mine for a month. I contacted Recon and they requested pictures of the issue. I haven't heard anything after that. Pretty much the service I expected after reading the similar issues people have had dealing with them directly.
I've had my Recon lights for almost a year now, and haven't had any problems with any of them. Sorry you guys are having so much trouble.
For my mirror lights I had to pry the tabs out a little bit after they clipped into the cover, cause they didn't want to spread back out on their own. OTher than that they fit great. My passenger side cover has given my issues since day one though (and it's the Ford replacement part). You might be able to file off a little bit of the clips, or push them in a bit and put a spot of super glue on them to get them to stay in better. Can't help you with the cab light though. I would just call Recon and tell them you want a replacement.
Looks like they have a lifetime warranty on craftsmanship but only gaurantee the electronics for 90 days. I would inspect it to see if they looked like water is causing the problem or if it is just bad LEDs. http://www.gorecon.com/customer_serv...cle.php?csak=9
I have the third brake light across the tail- and about 5 of them are out after 6 months...I thought LED's were supposed to last forever? I've only 5000 miles on these lights (whatever that converts to in "on" time").
LED's can last longer if they use quality LEDs. But with trying to make the biggest profit these days quanity is more important than quality to some companies.
does not look like i will be ordering anything else for recon. i called them about the light problem and was told that they have not seen the issue. i do understand that the warranty is only for 180 days on electrical but i would think that the lights should last longer. it does seem that its not the LEDs going out but what ever feeds them since a group of 3 LEDs would go out together, not individually.
I've had mine for about 6 months also and I haven't had any problems with the LED's. This is the first I've heard of it. I'll be watching out for problems now. Thanks for the heads up.
I too bought my third brakelight from recon and the cargo leds started going out after a week or two.I got po'd and bought a bully brand and it is still working great 3 months later.
Thats too bad. I have never had any issues with Recon products. If you guys have issues, call Heath at Recon. He will help you. I have all of their items and no problems. going on 14 months now.
My 3rd light only lasted a week or so. I emailed recon and never got a reply. I will not buy from them again. $XX for one week and no customer support.

I baught the Bully brand also. A year later it is still working fine. I got mine from stylin' concepts.
I've got Recon smoke clearance light covers and smoke side mirror/marker lights. Also had the third brake light but it failed to work properly and they refused to take it back or exchange it. That was an expensive mistake and the last product I ordered from Recon.
The side mirror/marker light fit is poor and the passenger side marker light has failed. The clearance light covers are great and the only product I would ever recommend from Recon.
You guys should pick up the phone and ask for Heath. He will help each and every one of you no questions asked. Doesnt hurt. instead of bashing them, give them an oppurtunity to fix it.
