Installed the tune into my truck and boy is there a difference. My question is this: This being my first tuned vehicle, when you guys say firm and crisp shifts, what do they actually feel like? Just wondering. A word that i would use to describe my 1-2,2-3 shifts would be agressive. What do you guys feel?
They are aggressive and I word to the wise, give youself plenty of room to slow down. First time, I underestimated it and my tranny slammed thru the gears til I managed to get it braked. Other then that, enjoy it.
Yeah i also have already experienced that and it will be my last. One last question tex: Is there anyway you can describe how the shift actually feels to you? Say for instance that the shifts were actually bad for the truck and you were trying to describe them to a tech, what would you say the shifts actually physically felt like? Sorry for the questions, just trying to learn
The shifts are going to feel really firm and somewhat scary the first time. This is normal as the transmission is relearning. It will smooth out a bit after about 100miles or so. Also the firmer shifting is actually better for your transmission.
Well there is one shifting pattern that I have noticed that hasn't seem to go away yet and I'll try to describe it the best way I can. If I'm on the throttle pretty good, the tranny acts as if it's going forward and then holds for a few seconds and then slams me back in the seat. Now that is really only when I'm on the throttle pretty good, if I'm going normal, it's not as noticable if at all. It isn't necessarily bad, it's more just little unnerving when your not used to it.
I am waiting to get Hybrid race, Agressive street and Gen econ from Matt. Does anyone know the hp / torque gains for these tunes? Just curious. Thanks!
This tune is awesome. I have had it for about a month maybe. The shifts are firm, in that I feel every gear change, which I like. Under 1/4-1/2 thottle the truck is very tame and smooth. At 3/4 the truck feels real strong. Then you open up a different can of worms. At WOT this truck is a smokin beast. Its scary how fast these tanks are.
it will shift HARD, like a snap, or a jerk... this is actually BETTER. it means you have good line pressure and that nothing is slipping. SMOOTH shifts are actually accomplished by allowing a little bit of slippage, which is BAD, but most consumers would rather have a smooth shift. those of us who are into performance will gladly take the BANG shifting ! ! !

I was told by Matt that the Hybrid race is around 425 RWHP.
I just got my new tunes from Matt. What should I try first? Agressive Street, Hybrid Race, or Gen economy. So many choices. I feel like a kid in a candy store. I am actually giddy.
