how dang difficult could it be? "did not take into account inflation". how hard of a concept is it?
i can't blmae the dems or repubs on this one, blame them all. they are so greedy to take money that was not orginally intended for them in the first place.
now i guess there is this give away take away thing where if they cut tax somewhere, they must find the money somewhere else. what ever. the money was not the gov's in the first place to spend.
i been reading tons about small business start up, i must admit, it is a bit overwhelming right now. it kind of scares me a bit to step out and try it.

Well, you most certainly can blame the Democrats for refusing to deal with it in this session.
Yeah...help me out with this. The Dems want to add back taxes elsewhere to replace the money.
Previous to this year about 4 million tax payers were affected by the AMT...myself included.
For the '07 tax year an additional 20+ million will be affected paying somewhere between $2k -$4K in additional tax that they haven't paid in previous years. This is new money for the IRS...what is there to replace? It wasn't theirs yet anyway.
Ken, you and I both know what the answer to that one will be: "We inherited this mess; we can't fix it overnight. Wait until Hillary is president, then we'll set this country right as rain."
kw5413: that's the price we 'affluent' middle class citizens pay for being so darn "successful".
I don't mind paying my fair share. What I do mind is paying my taxes by their rules....then their parallel formula decides it still is not enough after all... and they take more. That's what pisses me off.
What is the threshold now?......Good link on this?.......I've gotta admit, I haven't really paid much attention to the AMT (which I'm sure delights certain people in the gov), except when a pol or two talks about it on TV (i.e. 20-million more people getting socked with extra taxes if the AMT isn't fixed).....They haven't been working on it?......
Is there a threshold (income) for 1 person?, a couple?, family of 3?....of 4?......

Now THIS part I understand.....Isn't this what they do every Apr 15th?.......They take taxes from you all during the year without you even seeing the money you've worked for, then make YOU square away what you made and what they took and (more often than not), say that you have to pay more?.....
Income taxes, Capital gains taxes, FICA, etc. should ALL be abolished by Constitutional Amendment (it was a constitutional amendment that granted the government the right to take part of your income in the first place). Some of you probably know where I'm going with this.......
It is a very complex formula that ,apparently, strongly favors you paying higher taxes. Here is a link that may help but, it is pretty mind boggling in itself. Good luck.
