Hey Guys, 1 quick question about flowmaster mufflers.
I have purchased clifford performance headers, water heated intake, 390 CFM Holley carb. I want to defently go with a flowmaster muffler, but i'm not sure which one yet.
I would like dual exhaust but there is no way i can afford 2 flowmaster mufflers at this time. I was looking at the flowmaster 40 series muffler which has an intake of 2.5" and dual 2.5" out.
How do you guys think this would sound?
Flowmaster also has the same muffler except with 2.25" in and dual 2.25" out.

I'm not sure what the collector flange size is on your Clifford header, but you're best bet would be to match that size. Flowmaster also offers a 3" in/dual 2.5" out 40 Series muffler (P/N 430402).
I currently have their Force II cat-back system with a 50-series Big Block muffler (3" in/3" out), but plan to change out the muffler for a 40 Series unit for a deeper, louder exhaust note.
Thanks traildawg. Once i get all my parts, I will hopefully turn this into a may long weekend project. I will be adding headers, intake, carb and exhaust. I will post more to let you guys know how things go.
I have the pretty much same set up.....go with it...sounds good...ALSO get a high flow cat to make it sound better...unless you get the poor mans cat.......all you need it a metal rod and a hamer....and that will open it up some and it will sound great. I ran open pipes and it was ok till i floored it....then it was bee city....the Flow will make it sound metalic and raspy...I love that sound. Go for it....
