Outhouse
I havent been around much lately.
The only reason that i put the callipers on the front, was that is where they were on the doner vehicle. the shock mounts were a afterthought, it just worked out well.
You should get a gallery going to show us your project.
Hello oilyowl, Well if and when I get around to putting this all together and the shocks will clear I will keep the calipers on the front as per orginal. In your other reply I got the impressiom you HAD to reposition the shocks because of clearence problems. As to a picture gallery I don't know how and I think one has to have a hi-tec camara which I do not have. Maybe I can borrow or rent one. I JUST REMEMBERED!! The wife bought one about a year ago. I have had a cannon AE1 for a long time. I really like the cannon because its made for a dummy like me. This truck project is in the first stage of clean, repair, replace, fix, kick and cuss. The frame has been sandblasted and painted and is sitting in the driveway with the axles under it.New springs, bushings and pins front and rear. A brake job on the rear drums. I hope to convert to disc in the future.
Thanks for your reply
Hello 55 f350, Not sure these parts will work on a f350. They will work on1953-56 f250 and some earlier f250 fords.
The parts should be from 1975-79 f250 or f350 fords. You only need the caliper mounting brackets. The four mounting bracket holes will need to be welded closed and redrilled to fit. Your choice as to wheather to use the old calipers and rotors off 75-79 truck or go with new parts. Fellow member OILYOWL has pictures of this conversion.
51DUELLER put me on to his page. I am repeating here pretty much what they have said here.
