57-59 cab interchange?

Hi all

As i am not familier with the 57-59 trucks, I have a question.
I have a cab from a 57 f-600, would that cab be the same, or fit a 59
f-100 ?

Thanks in advance

Howdy -

Yes, the cab is the same. The fenders, grille, hood and front pan are all different from the '59 and '60 models. You can use the cab and your old front she et metal together to make a new '59!

59 and 60 have different wiring holes - have one of each apart in my work area. Don't know about the 57/58s.

Also, the 60 had electric wipers, the 59 has vacuum - don't know the differance in the cabs between the two.

'60 still had vacuum wipers as standard equipment.

I guess they could have been changed - but my 60 custom cab has electric and the switch assembly looks stock, as does the wiring.

57-60 Differences

For what it's worth, I have a 60 that came with vacuum wipers.
Mine is an early production run 60 though and it came with a 59 style hood.
So the year cannot be the absolute indicator of the differences as there was a bit of crossover.

I think the 59 hood combined with the 60 nose is the best combination they made. Just wish I had not ended up with those damned vacuum wipers. I have since replaced them with electric but it was EXPENSIVE.

For how long did they use '59 hoods on the 1960 trucks?

Are you 100% sure its original? only f-700+ used the old style hoods. -4speed

59 hood on a 60

No way to be absolutely certain but I have heard from several sources that the 59 hood carried over on 60 models manufactured in 59. I have seen pictures of a couple 60's with the 59 hood as well.
