hey guys, havent been on here in awhile seems i cant get my old account goin again but whatever. so heres my delema, i have a 1979 ford bronco with a 429 sitting at my dads place. when we took it off the trailor we found it was spitting out break fluid aka no breaks, needs a new tail gate, driver floor needs to be plexied, new flywheel, radiator needs a re-core, under lay and carpets. now i dont know how much it would cost me to get that all bought and done(not mechanicly inclined). and i was wondering maybe i should jsut keep it for part and just get a running one? ps thanks in advance!
get a haynes manual and learn. otherwise this would become expensive having a shop perform the work. gathering parts should be hard check out broncograveyard.com
Yes if you have an old truck and you dont work on it yourself you WILL go broke. Just take your time and if you have any questions you can allways ask here.
Welcome to FTE first off,
Secondly, have you considered picking up anoth 1978/79 Bronco and using one or the other as a parts rig? Pick the better of the two and use the other to bring it back to life.
hmm myabe it is worth it, apparently break line, radiator, tailgate, carpet spark plugs, carb kit, new gas tank, and air filter is gonna cost me like 1000 dollers, which isint too bad really. another thousand and i have a good runnin bronco. that i did myself. thinkin i should do this, doin it would take time but id spend the same money doin it both ways. so im thinkin i might as well, seeing insuring it for a month only cost 135 dollers lol
135 a month!!! wow thats alot. how old are you? I think i pay $475 for 6 months for full coverage on a grand cherokee and liability on my f150 and starion.
any rate.
It doesnt sound too bad. I would learn to fix it yourself. If you get two they will more likely have the same problems, ive tried that.
