Well, after roughly 9000 miles on a set of sidegapped Autolites, they're still going strong. Just thought I would report my experience, since the working life of sidegapped plugs came up as a question inn this forum a while back. The plugs are showing a little wear on the inside of the tip/electrode, right under the spark bar. I think eventually this will skew the gap enough to demand a new set of plugs, but so far, so good.
On another note, I recently replaced the aging, sagging split-back bench seat in my 90 F150 SC with a regular cab bench seat from a 95 F150. Love the new seat, but does anyone know if this okay safety-wise? The regular cab seat is not a split-back, and it locks in place in the upright position, but is this application/modification safe in the event of a fender-bender?? Just curious. Thanks for any & all replies.
Your probably better off with a locking seat back in an accident. It keeps the back of the seat from trying to push you forward from momentum.
