Turbo wine / problem?????
I've been experiencing what I would call a strange turbo wine for the last month. Kind of sounds like metal disks rubbing together in a tube. It only occurs between 1400-2000 rpm, and when it's fairly cold (20-35 deg.). I does go away after about 10 min. of constant driving (ie. freeway).
I'm thinking that it could be lack of high-pressure oil getting to the bearings due to the temperature.
Any ideas?

Could be your turbo stating to go. Take off the intake tube and check for side-to-side and in & out play. Should be VERY little side-to-side and the wheel should NOT touch anything when you're doing it.
A friend of mine's CTD does that same thing. We're about to put a turbo in it...
