After looking for quite sometime I found a set of wheels which I think would go nice with my truck. My stock size is 17x9's. There are 2 different sizes:
17x8.5 8-170 -6C or 17x10 8-170 -25C
The tires I have will mount on a rim width 8.5 - 10 inches.
Anyone have pics with either a -6 or -25 offset? or comments?
You're profile says your truck is a 2007. You'll need the wheels with the -6mm offset. The -25mm offset is for 99-04 Superduties, and will stick out pretty far on your truck, especially with a 10" wide wheel. Some people like that look, but you better be ready for rock chips on your paint, or get some good fender flares.
What size tires are you planning to get? An 8.5" wide wheel is going to prevent you from getting an oversized tire if that's what you are planning to do. If you're going to run stock sized tires, then an 8.5" wide wheel will be just fine.
Both wheels listed are actually for '99 - '04 SD's and would stick way out on a '05 up truck.
8.5" wide wheel with -6mm offset = 4.5" backspacing.
10" wide wheel with -25mm offset = 4.5" backspacing.
Buying wheels by the offset number can be confusing as it will change dependant on wheel width and backspacing. Backspacing is your constant regardless of wheel width and the best number to use when determining if a wheel will work. '05-up SD's need 5.5" - 6.0" Backspacing.
A 10" wide wheel for a '05-up should have between 0mm and +13mm (positive) offset. A 8.5" wide wheel should have between +20mm and +32mm offset. This would give you your needed 5.5" - 6.0" backspacing.
Sorry to change the subject a little but will the new 20" wheels off of an 08 F250/350 fit on an 05 without issues? I want to upgrade from my stock 18's to the new stock 20"s. Also do any of you guys know where I can get a set shipped to Houston for under $1500 total price including tires and shipping?
