front axle disconnect

does anyone know if the d60 that came in fords(king pin version)the same or similar d60 that came in 94-02 dodges?
im wondering because i wanna put in a front axle disconnect from 4x4 posi-lok(http://www.4x4posi-lok.com/app_dodge.html)
the f250 i recently bought already had a f350 solid axle swaped into it and the front diff was welded(lincoln locker) and the axle disconnect would help with turning and while driving in 2wd

Those Dodge axles have central axle disconnect from the factory. Your Ford axles are one piece with lock-out hubs. Totally different system.

so if i just leave the hubs unlocked ill be fine driving with the welded diff?

I have heard a rumor that when you weld the diff, you have to do it a certain way or welding the gears weakens them. I think the preferred permanent way is to buy a spool.

i think theyre weakened because of the added stress put on all the parts.
i think ill just leave it in there until i would actually need to replace it.
