der... I'm stupid... Went to put the ohm meter on it and got nothing. Then started looking at the wire... well lookie there, theres a huge frey on the wire right behind the plug...what a tard! Clipped it and then put the meter on it again and was getting 14.9. Should be good, right? I love it when things are easy!!

Thanks for the help guys.

My Block Heater Cord Goes Into The Oil Filter Housing. So I Asume It Heats The Oil.

The actual heating element is in a water jacket on mine....

Mounted in the rear of the oil cooler above the filter...
Utimately , it heats the oil too....

There Is A Housing Above My Filter That It Goes Into. I Dont Know If It Is A Cooler Or Not. It Looks All Factory To Me. Does It Cost Alot On The Electric Bill To Run These.

Most of us run them on a timer for 2-3 hours,,, Less smoke at startup....(In the house garage).....

A little heat for the short ride to work....

I have a fairly heavy duty timer , same as we use for a small electric water heater in our kitchen for coffee,,, Then an extention cord, plugged into the truck..

Where did you all get a good timer from? Gotta get one for the father inlaws truck....he plugs it in around 8pm and leaves it plugged in till around 8am the next morning.....needless to say, thats why the electric bill is very high

Hardware store, Wal-Mart, Lowe's, Home Depot. Any of those will do. Just get a good one and not one for $0.99
